Jessica Russell is a rising star in Canada’s country music scene, known for her heartfelt lyrics, engaging stage presence, and a voice rooted in authenticity. Hailing from Nova Scotia, her passion for music and storytelling has taken her coast to coast — from Vancouver to Whitehorse, where she headlined a show at the oldest hotel in the Yukon — connecting with audiences across the country. Her tour stops have included well-known venues like Ranchman’s in Calgary, TransCanada Brewing, The Carleton, and several major exhibitions throughout Nova Scotia.
Jessica has shared the stage with some of Canadian country’s biggest names, including Aaron Goodvin, The Washboard Union, Shawn Austin, and Emerson Drive, bringing her own brand of down-to-earth charm and powerful vocals to every performance.
Her debut single, Here We Go, introduced her talent for crafting relatable, story-driven songs. Since then, she’s continued to make waves with releases like Pause On Over — earning national radio play and showcase opportunities — and She Can Keep It, which climbed to #3 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown and earned her two nominations at the 2025 Josie Music Awards in Nashville for Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
Beyond the stage, Jessica is passionate about building her musical community. She is the founder and organizer of Country at the Cross, a music festival launched in 2022 to spotlight local talent in her hometown of New Ross, Nova Scotia. The 2025 edition featured 12 artists and drew over 600 attendees. She also leads Song Circle, an after-school program for aspiring young singer-songwriters, offering guidance in songwriting, recording, and live performance.
